Joan Tower
Joan Tower is considered by many to be one of the most successful woman composers of all time. She has received many prestigious awards, performing groups practically have to beg her for commissions these days, and her compositions actually enter the concert repertoire.

In addition to having many of her works recorded, Tower is a founding member of the Da Capo Chamber Players.

Listen in: Hear Joan Tower discuss her work, along with a sampling of her music (RealAudio 3.0; how to listen)
