Sherpa - Magna Glass
March 12, 2003

Listen (How to Listen)

(music: lonesome brass)

Dale Connelly: This section of our show is brought to you by the Sherpa sport utility vehicle from Intimida. It's a mighty big car. And an SUV is the kind of car people want to drive today for status, for safety, and for self image.

Jim Ed Poole: Physically, I'm not a big man, so I like a car that gives me a chance to ride high. It helps me feel powerful and in control.

Although I did notice that people on the street seem amused when I pass by. And then my wife took a picture of me pulling out of the driveway and I saw why they were laughing: I look like a child driving his father's car!

DC: It's true ... even normal sized people look like pipsqueaks behind the wheel of the current crop of SUV's. Sadly, that gives jealous non-SUV drivers a chance to ridicule.

An opportunity they are unable to pass up.

Driver: (amused) Yeah ... the car pulls up and of course it's enormous. And the door opens and ... I couldn't believe it.

You know how you go to the circus and a hundred clowns jump out of a Volkswagen? I expected to see more than one little person in there. But there he was, this tiny guy! (laughs) It was so ... comical!

DC: Comical! Tiny! Clowns! These are not words that people expect to hear when they spend hard-earned money on an SUV. But there's only one big car on the market with a solution to the small driver/big SUV disparity.

And that's the Sherpa from Intimida!

(theme)

JEP: When I went to see my Sherpa dealer, he took one look at me and said, "You need Magna Glass!" And boy was he right!

DC: Magna Glass is an Intimida innovation that uses the same proven technology in microscopes and telescopes to make you look more proportional in size in relation to the car you're driving.

JEP: I climbed in, closed the door, and rolled up the window, and everybody said wow! You look like King Kong when you're behind the Magna Glass! And you know what? (proud) I felt like King Kong!

DC: Magna Glass side windows and windshields on Intimida Sherpas turn those smirking onlookers into humbled supplicants when you pull into the grocery store parking lot.

JEP: At this one store ... they shut the place early 'cause they were afraid a guy so big would clean them out! And all I did was drive by the front door! All thanks to Magna Glass!

DC: It's the basic optics of the fish tank. To those outside, looking in, you appear to be pretty big and fearsome! And to you, everything outside the car looks even smaller and less significant. It's a great boost for your confidence!

JEP: Yeah, objects in my rear view mirror may be closer than they appear, and stuff I see through my windshield may actually be larger than it seems, but when I'm in my Sherpa, the whole world seems pretty tiny and far away!

Just the way I like it! Thanks, Intimida!

DC: Ask your Sherpa dealer about Magna Glass and get started with your total domination of the highways.

The Sherpa SUV from Intimida! It's a mighty big car!
