Dale Connelly: Some enchanted evening ... sharing stories from our listeners of unlikely romance arising from unexpected circumstances. This note comes from our listener Carol, who says: Beth Gilleland: We were both registered on an Internet matching service. His profile sounded interesting so I sent him an anonymous e-mail, which he answered.
BG: He said he had lived in the Twin Cities all his life. I had, too.
BG: He wrote ... Jim Ed Poole: (cheerful) Hi Carol! I'm Don Stanton. We grew up across the street from each other. BG: He was two years older, the same age as my older sister. He joined the Navy right out of high school. JEP: (echoes her) I joined the Navy right out of high school. BG: He was very quiet and extremely good-looking. JEP: I'm still very quiet and extremely good looking. BG: He left when I was 15 and not even dating yet, as if he would have even known I existed! JEP: I'm glad to hear you still exist! BG: Our parents were good friends and our siblings know each other and all our family members are thrilled for us! DC: It's true ... 40 years ago our listeners Carol and Don played together as children. Now that they're both old enough to cross the street on their own, they're planning their wedding.
