CBC Radio Orchestra is conducted for the first time by the rising young
Canadian conductor Yannick Nezet-Seguin. In this concert, Nezet-Seguin
conducts Mendelssohn's Symphony No.1 in c minor and Prokofiev's Symphony
No.1 ('Classical'). Sony recording artist, cellist Denise Djokic, joins
the orchestra to play Haydn's Cello Concerto No.1 in D major. |

Manitoba Chamber Orchestra is conducted by its resident conductor Roy
Goodman in Telemann's Concerto Polonois in Bb major and Intermezzo for
Strings by the Canadian composer Peter Paul Koprowski. Hyperion recording
artist, the pianist, Marc-André Hamelin joins the orchestra to
play Chopin's Piano Concerto No.1 in e minor in a new arrangement for
Strings and timpani by Roy Goodman. |
