About the Historic Theater Project
The Historic Theater Project is a series of live broadcasts from historic theaters in the MPR listening area. Dale Connelly, Jim Ed Poole, and the rest of the team hit the road a few times a year to bring The Morning Show into communities around the region.

Live from The Paramount Theater
The Morning Show presented a free, live, region-wide broadcast from the Paramount Theater on June 20, featuring live music from Suzzy and Maggie Roche and The George Maurer Jazz Group. Dale and Jim Ed were also joined by some of their Morning Show characters, including, appropriately enough, Bathtub Safety Officer Rafferty. (06/20/2003)

Live from The Sheldon Theater
Dale, Jim Ed, and the Morning Show crew took on Red Wing for a live broadcast from the historic Sheldon Theatre on Friday, May 2. Special guests for this show are Cam Waters, known for his literate, tradition-based songwriting; singer Prudence Johnson with Dan Chouinard on piano and accordion; and Winona's John Paulson Jazz Quartet, known for its hard-hitting swing and repertoire of standards. Live from the Worthington Memorial Auditorium
Dale and Jim Ed celebrated the day of love with music from singer/songwriters Neal and Leandra, and Peter Mayer. The show also includes the results of our Some Enchanted Evening special, in which listeners were invited to send us the story of how they met their special someone. Dale and Jim Ed, and the rest of the Morning Show crew retold some lucky listeners' stories in song live on the Feb. 14 show. (02/14/2003)

Live from the Hibbing High School Auditorium
The Morning Show presented a live broadcast from the historic Hibbing High School Auditorium on Friday, Oct. 4, featuring favorite Morning Show characters and musical guests Connie Evingson and The Mary Louise Knutson Trio, the LaPlant Family Trio from Grand Rapids, and Hibbing organist Vicki Lundberg Gornick. Live from the Fargo Theatre
The Morning Show presented a live broadcast from the historic Fargo Theatre on April 5, featuring live music from Becky Schlegel, Peter Ostroushko, Dirk Freymuth, the Hard Bop Saxophone Quartet and the Harris-Coates Duo. Dr. Larry Kyle of Genway, renowned punishment expert Scott Scourge, and radio daredevil Nephew Thomas also made appearances. (10/04/2002)
