Glamour restored
I look with amazement now each of the few times I've walked into the restored Sheldon. My dad used to tell me what a beautiful place it was. (He grew up in Red Wing in the '30s and '40s.)

My memories of the theater are of a movie theater where I saw most of my movies growing up in the '60s and '70s. The seats were shabby then. Granted, it sure was a nice place to see a movie. We couldn't sit in the opera boxes, but we could sit in the balcony, and there were ushers.

I worked on the set for a high school production of Guys and Dolls. I got to see the backstage and below the stage floor and the elevator for a portion of the stage floor. Wow, it was like a big-city theater!

I have taken my daughter there to see a live production of The Nutcracker. It was fun to see and hear her reaction to the glamorous features of the theater.
