The Hokey Pokey
Listener Submission: Most Unusual Wedding Music Story

We just recently attended a wedding of some friends at the Renaissance grounds. It was a second marriage for both of them and had a wonderfully personal flavor. Both the bride and groom included their children in the wedding party. The wedding party was entirely dressed in Renaissance period costumes (the guest were also invited to do this). There was nothing extraordinary about the music until the very end.

The bride and groom turned to thank the guests for attending. They reminded us to " . . . have fun, because THAT'S WHAT IT'S ALL ABOUT!" They then asked us to join them in the "Hokey Pokey" as they recessed to Bad Manor for the reception. We joined in doing the" Hokey Pokey" and tossing birdseed at the happy couple. They're off to a fine start because having fun is your marriage is "what it's all about." My husband and I have had fun for 18 years. We thank our friends for reminding us. This was truly a memorable wedding and the music made it so!
