Odes to Joy

Discordant Vivaldi
Listener Submission: Most Unusual Wedding Music Story

We planned a joyous celebration with close family and friends for our wedding. The organist, whom we had never met, agreed to a Vivaldi service. (Who can not be happy while listening to Vivaldi?)

During the processional I began to hear some odd noises coming from the organ. On my way down the isle I glanced at the organist who was sporting a broken thumb with an extremely large bandage! He was so into the music he kept forgetting not to play the "right thumb notes"! The discordant clashes throughout gave all our guests the giggles. Our joyous celebration was a reality!
