Yes Sir, That's My Baby
Like most church organists, I have my share of wedding horror stories: the Gone with the Wind theme wedding complete with hoopskirts and parasols, the inebriated groom, the even-more inebriated mother of the bride. I can't control any of that; I can make sure the music is good. But as a teenage church organist in Montana (and a shy, naive one at that), I didn't have many skills when it came to standing up to the demands of the overbearing wedding party. Which is how I found myself worn down by the very bossy, very pregnant bride who insisted that she would come down the aisle to, you guessed it, "Yes Sir, That's My Baby." Scott Rohr |
