Thank God I'm a Country Boy
Listener Submission: Most Unusual Wedding Music Story

Now, this story is not a personal experience, but a story that happened to my friend, Christine Akins, who was a wedding DJ.

Christine was working at a predominately black wedding, and most of the music was R & B. There were also a lot of kids who would walk up to her and ask her to dance during the songs. So, being a nice person, Christine would start the song and then go to the dance floor with the kids, dance a bit, and then get back to her station before the song ended.

One time, however, she was having too much fun and didn't get back in time. She was dancing, the song ended, and she spaced getting back to change the music. It wouldn't have been so badk, except the next song happened to be "Thank God I'm a Country Boy."

The guests at the wedding took it in stride, and started two-stepping around the dance floor, so she let the song play out. But, she was embarrassed.
