Theme from The Natural
Listener Submission: Most Unusual Wedding Music Story

My husband staked claim to picking out all the music for our wedding—and asked to let it be a surprise. Being a huge baseball fan (our wedding had a 7:05 pm start time), imagine my surprise and delight when strains of the theme song from The Natural wafted through the Breck Chapel as my processional. Imagine the amazement of our guests when the next song sung was "The National Anthem." Though the rest of the wedding didn't follow through with a baseball theme, it had plenty of sentiment. A group of friends did a rendition of Sinatra's "All the Way" that brought several to tears. A bagpiper came through the church following the homily. And as we kissed, our friend Elliot sang "What a Wonderful World."

Our recessional was music from Field of Dreams. I still puddle up thinking about it. (By the way, we had a nice tribute from Jim Ed and Dale on the morning show that morning. My friend Cindy told them that we were getting married at 7:05—they wondered if we would sing the National Anthem. Jim Ed and Dale played us music from the Bobs and "My Baby Loves a Bunch of Authors."
