Coffee
"You're the Cream in My Coffee," because it wasn't the first marriage for either of us. We were in our 50s and in love, but not too dazed to be realistic. Our morning coffee is extremely importantwith half-and-half, even though we're educated about fats, cholesterol, and the importance of caution. We knewhonestlywe could live without one another. Still, why would we choose to live separately, to live without cream in our coffee? Our wedding ceremony was uncluttered; we stood on the front steps of the veautiful vintage building where we live with the 2615 Park Avenue garden in the background and surrounded by friends and family. Our "recessional" tune was "You're the Cream In My Coffee," and it carried all of us into the reception on the lawn, across from the Swedish Institute castle, on a lovely summer afternoon, August 1999.
