Odes to Joy home

My husband had just followed our wedding DJ through a fun blindfolded contest in which he felt each bridesmaid's (and the bride's) calf, as they lifted their dress a little up the leg, and then he chose which "leg" he thought was his beautiful bride's (mine). After a lot of stalling (and feeling!), he had to choose his mate. Unfortunately, he had it narrowed down to two, and didn't pick me. Must not have had a lot of blindfolded experience with my lower legs!

Next, the DJ said it was my turn. No problem, I thought, I can do calves. As I was blindfolded, the raunchy music (The Full Monty soundtrack, perhaps?) came on; it was a clue for the events to come. I heard the DJ's voice, through my blindness, tell the groomsmen to line up against the wall and "spread 'em." I wasn't quite sure what they were spreading, thinking that we're still talking calves here!

Instead, I, the naive bride, had to walk down the lineup of eight of my recently wed husband's friends (as well as my husband), facing the wall and choose which one was my guy by . . .how should I put this . . .grabbing tushies? Quite uncomfortable, since I knew my own brother was in the groomesmen bunch. But, to give a painful story a happy ending, I, the blindfolded bride, felt the butts of my male wedding party in front of our 300 guests, including many faint of heart and family, and what do you know, chose the correct "bottom" of my dearly beloved husband. Must be true love—or a keen knowledge of his backside!
