World Choral Spectacular

Choirs from around the world came together in Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minnesota for one week of concerts and lectures. American Public Media was the official broadcaster of the event.

Guests: Anton Armstrong is and Conductor of the St. Olaf Choir. Libby Larsen is one of Minnesota's best-known composers. She writes music for orchestras, opera companies, choral groups and chamber ensembles. Cantus is an a cappell male chamber ensemble based in the Twin Cities. Erick Lichte is the director of Cantus' artistic committee.

The final concert of the symposium featured four Minnesota groups: the St. Olaf Choir, the renowned college choir from Northfield conducted by Anton Armstrong, the internationally celebrated and vastly recorded Dale Warland Singers, Dale Warland, conductor, the VocalEssence Ensemble Singers, yet another Minnesota choir with worldwide recognition conducted by World Choral Symposium 6 Board President Philip Brunelle and finally jazz group Moore by Four, led by pianist Sanford Moore.
