The Morning Show | Historic Theater Project | St. Cloud

Live from the Paramount Theater—June 20, 2003

The Morning Show presented a free, live, region-wide broadcast from the Paramount Theater on June 20, featuring live music from Suzzy and Maggie Roche and The George Maurer Jazz Group. Dale and Jim Ed were also joined by some of their Morning Show characters, including, appropriately enough, Bathtub Safety Officer Rafferty.

About the Paramount Theater
The Paramount Theatre opened in 1921 as the Sherman Theatre, originally named for Minneapolis motion picture executive Harry A. Sherman, when admission to silent films was just 50 cents. It was the grandest theatre of its kind in St. Cloud at the time, with seating for 1,700, and it served for decades as a home for Vaudeville acts, operas, concerts, musicals, plays, and movies. After some years of neglect, the Paramount fell victim to fire in 1985. In the '90s, the Paramount was patched up. It has taken the cooperation of many groups to see the Paramount Theater's renovation through to completion.
