Hector comes to his senses and begs Helens forgiveness. She tells him she still loves him, but believes it would be better if she leaves the city. Left alone, Hector sees a vision of their lives without each other, and realizes that he cannot live without her. Just as Helen is about to end her life at the Brooklyn Bridge, Hector stops her and tells her their love must survive. Hector learns he has won the election. Ajax arrives to offer his friendship, and is quickly arrested. The characters face uncertainty and promise as Hectors Presidency begins.

...regains sanity. Helen holds Hector before leaving him forever, and leaves to...
...jump off the Brooklyn Bridge. Stopped at the last minute by Hector, and crowd proclaiming Hector's presidential victory. Ajax is arrested for staging the murder, and sun begins to rise.
Hard work triumphs once again. "There's no way like the American way."
