Susurro My husband and I first got to know each other while on a trip to the Great Plains (Montana, Wyoming, and South Dakota) in 1996. While at Crow Fair, a large pow-wow in Montana, an Andean band called Karullacta played their music. The beautiful sounds of the flute filled the hot summer air. When we were married in April of this year, we used as our recessional a song by Karullacta called Susurro, which means "whisper." We walked hand in hand out of the Sunken Garden in the Como Park Conservatory to the upbeat, joyous melodies of the Andes. Danielle Porter Born |
