Odes to Joy home

Back in the '70s, weddings all seemed to have the same songs played at them. I went right along with the flow . . .but as brides sometimes do, changed my mind at the last minute! Three days before the wedding I just had to have "Beautiful" by Gordon Lightfoot sung at the wedding. (A friend of my brother's was going to play the guitar & sing our choices up in the balcony.)

It wasn't until after the wedding day that my brother told me just how difficult that piece was to play! I guess it's quite a lot to learn in three days! I felt so bad having not given the poor singer a thought, I just expected he could do it! Not being musical myself, I didn't realize what was involved, but he did a great job and it was a beautiful piece about being friends for such a long time. It was a beautiful day!
