Odes to Joy home

John and I had recently purchased a tandem bicycle and went on a 500-mile tour in the Upper Peninsula. On the last long day of our tour (about 70 miles) he said, "I suppose it's about time we got married." He figured it was the carrot to get me through the day.

Our wedding was based on our biking theme. The minister did a homily on marriage being like riding a tandem bicycle. We secretly had our organist do an arrangement for the recessional that we titled "Allegretto in Tandem." The guests began to chuckle as we walked out of the sanctuary to a very elaborate version of "Daisy, Daisy," or "A Bicycle Built for Two."
