![]() The Lord's Prayer My husband and I were married 35 years ago this August 20. It was a small family wedding and I don't remember what I chose for music. It was something that the church organist could play, however. My sister, who was also bridesmaid, sang a song, but for the life of me, I can't remember what it was, except it was beautiful, as was her voice. My best music, however, was my father singing "The Lord's Prayer." After he walked me down the aisle and gave me to my husband, he went back to the organ and sang. It was very meaningful and touching. When I was a child, my father used to sing to us children before bed and "The Lord's Prayer" was always the last song he sang at night. We taped the service (audio, reel-to-reelit was back in the old days!), but I can't find the tapeit has gotten lost in all our moves. I wish I could find it to listen to my father and my sister once again. Connie Peterson |
