Odes to Joy home

I chose Beethoven's "Moonlight Sonata" for my wedding march. When we were dating, my husband-to-be played classical music on his stereo for me to listen to. My favorite album became Beethoven's Greatest Hits, with "Moonlight Sonata" my favorite selection on the album. When I told our Pastor's wife, who was our pianist, what I wanted her to play, she said that it was much too slow to be used as a wedding march, so she played it much faster than Mr. Beethoven intended.

I'm not sure why I listened to her, but every time I hear it now, my mind drifts back in time and I see myself, as a bride, slowly walking down the aisle on my father's arm to meet the man of my dreams. By the way, we have been married almost 30 years, since Sept. 4, 1971. I also use the song as part of my aerobics class as a final song to stretch and relax to.
