Odes to Joy home

"These Are for You," by Stephanie Cooper. On our first date, Valentine's Day, we walked around Nicollet and Boom Islands. When we got to the Paddleford Landing, my now-husband pulled a bag of chocolate-covered coffee beans from his pocket and said, looked at me kind of timidly, and said,"These are for you." A year later, our friend wanted to write and perform a song for our wedding and asked us for some ideas. I replied with the words from our first date, "These are for you." She wrote a walz so sweet and true—a universal love song, just for us.
